Dietary fibre is found only in plant foods and plays an important role in helping to keep the bowel healthy. Fibre can be found in foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, lentils and many grain-based foods such as some breakfast cereals, cereal bars, muesli bars and muesli slices.

Kellogg’s® produce many grain-based foods which can help provide fibre in the diet. These fall under three categories as defined by an industry code of practice:

  • very high in fibre or excellent source of fibre - contains at least 6 grams of fibre in a serve
  • high fibre or good source of fibre - contains at least 3 grams of fibre in a serve
  • provides fibre or source of fibre – contains at least 1.5 grams of fibre in a serve.

Foods high in carbohydrate

Carbohydrate is an important source of energy and should contribute approximately 45-65 percent of energy (kilojoules) in people’s diet.  The main sources are grain-based foods (like breakfast cereals, bread, rice and grain-based bars), starchy vegetables, sugars, fruit and milk products.

Products low in salt

Kellogg provides a range of grain-based products with varying salt levels to suit consumers different nutrition and taste needs. Products low in salt contain less than 120mg of sodium per 100g

Products low in fat

Fats are the most concentrated form of energy and are found in foods such as meat, biscuits, pastries, chips, cakes and full fat dairy foods. Many Kellogg grain-based products are low in fat meaning they contain less than 3g of total fat per 100g.
